Emily Shain is originally from Berkeley, CA. A Californian at heart, she’s spent the last years building a life in New York .

Emily attended the University of Minnesota/ Guthrie Theater Actors Training Program. After some time in Chicago, she matriculated into the Acting MFA Program at UCSD.

She performs regularly with the Back Room Shakespeare Project in NYC (she’s a proud Partner). As an educator, Emily has taught at Adelphi University, UCSD, NYU, NMSU and the New York Film Academy. Emily also works with Fearless Communicators, a global public speaking company that works with thought leaders and entrepreneurs on what they say and how they say it.

Emily resides in Brooklyn, NY with her husband Luis and cat Earl. She loves reading (recently Girl, Woman, Other), cooking (this was delicious) and listening to podcasts (press play). She is dedicated to a lifetime of investigating the ways art can crack people open.

Emily recently acted in a short piece for Fault Line Theatre which you can view here. She is currently working at Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
